Greetings! I am Halima, an Australian-based Arabic Calligraphy artist originally from Lahore, Pakistan, and currently residing in the charming city of Hobart, Tasmania. Allow me to invite you into the world of my artistic journey and the profound inspiration behind my work.

My journey as an artist has been nothing short of transformative, with the pandemic acting as a catalyst for my exploration of Arabic Calligraphy. During these challenging times, I dedicated myself to blending the rich traditions of this ancient art form with a contemporary touch.

The initial spark that ignited my passion for Arabic Calligraphy was its inherent therapeutic quality. This art form goes beyond mere strokes and letters; it embodies mindfulness through the context it carries. Often drawing wisdom from the Holy Quran and poetry, Arabic Calligraphy offers a soothing and contemplative practice.

Halima’s Art Theory

Lyrical, Spiritual, and Calligraphic

In my artistic endeavors, I strive to create art that is lyrical, spiritual, and deeply calligraphic. These elements serve as the foundation of my creative process, infusing each piece with a unique essence that resonates with both tradition and contemporary expression

Inspiration from Islamic Art and Philosophy

My artworks draw profound inspiration from Islamic Art and philosophy, particularly from the teachings of Dr. Allama Iqbal, the Persian poet and philosopher. His philosophy of "KHUDI" revolves around the spiritual and philosophical nature of individuals and the recognition of the "Self." Through his works, he delves into how this recognition of self can create emotional bonds with eternity, empowering not only the individual but society as a whole

Promoting Cultural Connections

Through my art, I aspire to promote the idea of fostering cultural connections. By weaving the philosophy of "KHUDI" into my creations, I aim to bridge the gap between cultures and showcase the profound beauty and wisdom inherent in Islamic art and philosophy

Combating Stigmatization

Beyond cultural connections, my artworks also serve a higher purpose by raising awareness and combating the stigmatized perception often associated with Muslims and Islamic art. I believe that art has the power to break down stereotypes and create a deeper understanding of the rich heritage and contributions of the Islamic world.

Gifts to Share

I firmly believe that my artworks are not possessions to be confined to galleries but gifts meant to be shared with the world. Through my art, I hope to inspire, connect, and empower individuals, fostering unity, serenity, and a deeper appreciation for the beauty of Arabic Calligraphy and Islamic philosophy.

Thank you for joining me on this artistic odyssey. Stay connected with my work as I continue to explore the depths of Arabic Calligraphy, weaving threads of tradition, spirituality, and contemporary expression into intricate works of art that speak to the soul and promote a more harmonious world.
